Crocker Park and the Promenade

Upscale Shopping & Dining in Western Greater Cleveland

Jul 23, 2007 James Hutchinson

Great shopping, dining and fun is close to home in Westlake, near Cleveland, at Crocker Park.

Crocker Park, an upscale shopping experience, is located a half hour west of Downtown Cleveland in the beautiful suburb of Westlake.

Easily accessible from Interstate 90, the shopping area has many choices for fine dining as well as stores with the latest fashions in apparel, shoes and accessories for the home.

Designed to resemble a town center, Crocker Park is an outdoor area, with stores set up in front of streets with trees, benches and comfortable furniture. Above the shops are apartments, as the area combines both commercial and residential use to create a neighborhood.

On Crocker Park Boulevard, there is a traffic circle and guest services kiosk. For a good part of the year the street is decorated in lovely flowers in beds, hanging baskets and large pots. It takes a full time crew of nine staff to maintain the gardens in season. This area is converted to a winter wonderland when decorated with holiday displays in December.

Shopping

Crocker Park and the adjoining Promenade contain nearly 40 apparel stores, featuring the finest clothing. Such fine retailers as H & M, Abercrombie, Chico’s, Ann Taylor, Urban Outfitters and Talbots stand next to fine shoe and accessory stores, including Coach, Steve Madden, and Journeys.

There are a number of stores with items for the home, including Smith & Hawkin, Bombay and Arhaus. There are two large bookstores: Borders and Barnes and Noble, a 16 screen movie theater and Trader Joe’s, a specialty food store. Dick’s Sporting Goods, with its giant indoor climbing fall, anchors the West end of the center.

Dining

Crocker Park specializes in food, with fine dining, casual eateries and convenient places to grab a meal, snack or something for your sweet tooth. Many of the restaurants have outdoor seating to enjoy a café atmosphere in good weather.

For an elegant sit-down restaurant, Blake’s Seafood Restaurant and Bar as well as Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse are great choices, with first class service and great food. Brio offers fabulous Tuscan prepared dishes and upscale ambiance.

For a fun, casual atmosphere, Champps, and Claddagh Irish Pub offer terrific sandwiches and your favorite drinks along with a full menu. The Cheesecake Factory is very popular, the lines starting early in the day for excellent meals with large portions and, of course, their wonderful desserts.

Parking

Crocker Park has several large parking garages, parking lots and on-street parking in the shopping center. Although the meter readers are friendly, they do enforce the rules and will ticket those that don’t feed the meter. There is additional parking at the Promenade, steps away from Crocker Park.

For variety, there is a Farmer’s Market at the shopping center from April to December. For all your shopping and dining needs, Crocker Park is easy to get to, and a great place to enjoy.
